2011 was apparently the year of the live show. I somehow managed to attend 27 shows this year, which is a new record for me. I saw some artists for the first time, like Rihanna, Goo Goo Dolls, and Keith Urban. I also tallied up more shows from some of my favorites, like Gavin DeGraw, Kris Allen, and David Cook.

Chris Daughtry tweeted earlier today that the third studio album from
his band Daughtry will be released on November 21! He describes the album as “full on ROCK!!!!!”
Chris sent a tweet last week stating, “Just got some great news!!!! I know what our first 2 singles are! I’ll spill the beans in the next few days”
Very exciting!
Moving on, Kelly Clarkson’s music video for “Mr. Know It All,” the lead single off her fifth studio album Stronger is set to premiere on VEVO on September 26 at 12 a.m.!
Here’s Kelly performing “Mr. Know It All” for the very first time at Stars For Free in Berlin over the weekend.
Kelly is slated to perform on The Tonight Show on September 20 & The Ellen DeGeneres Show on September 22.
And last, but certainly not least, Kris Allen is scheduled to appear on the Today Show later this week on September 15 to discuss the Kidz Bop Star USA Talent Search, which he’s on the judging panel for. Kris is slated to appear during the 10 a.m. hour with Kathy Lee & Hoda.
Kris Allen joined Lifehouse for a show in Detroit tonight, and performed a brand new song called, “You Got A Way”!

I really like it! (You’re shocked, right?)
What do y’all think of Kris’s new song?
Hello lovely readers! Happy Summer to you all! Every year I always make an iTunes summer playlist with the songs that become my soundtrack, and I thought this year I would share what I’m listening with y’all. Over the past couple weeks I’ve been putting together my playlist of what I have been listening to since summer kicked off.
Since it’s summer, you’re not going to find any ballads on this list. But you are going to find upbeat and fun numbers that probably want to make you dance, or at the very least sing-a-long. You’ll find old songs, new songs, and definitely some of my favorites.
Enjoy Wait…WHAT?’s Summer 2011 Playlist!
“Summertime” – Will Smith: This the quintessential summer song. For me, it’s not summer without the classic Fresh Prince track.
“Right Here, With You” – David Cook: Let it be known that I love David Cook’s new album, This Loud Morning. For me this is one of those songs that you listen to loudly in the car with the windows down and the wind blowing through your hair. Definitely roadtrip mixtape potential with this one!
“Teenage Dream” – The Warblers/Darren Criss: Last summer I felt like Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream” was summer rolled up into a fantastically catchy song. Cue Glee giving the song a slight makeover with the ever so dreamy Darren Criss and his kick awesome vocals, and you have a song that I never ever want to go away.
Last night on The Voice, Dia Frampton from Team Blake performed an absolutely gorgeous version of Kanye West’s “Heartless” on piano. Check out her performance below.
As you may know, Kris Allen made himself stand out from the pack during Top 3 night on American Idol back in season eight with his stellar acoustic rendition of “Heartless.” Check out his performance below.
In the spirit of it being Kanye West’s birthday today, I thought I would ask y’all which “Heartless” cover do you prefer and why? Vote & comment below!
Included in the last batch of Glee tracks which could be heard in last week’s season two finale “New York” were four new original songs, Matthew Morrison’s latest single, and one of the best duets from the entire season.
It wouldn’t truly be Glee without one final mash-up of the season. The mash-up of Madonna’s “I Love New York” with On The Town’s “New York, New York” is interesting. Glee definitely sped up the tempo from the original Madonna song, which gave it more of a pop feel and kind of took away the song’s edge. I did like Cory Monteith (Finn) and Naya Rivera (Santana) on lead vocals together. It’s nice to mix up the Lea Michele/Monteith leads every so often. I like that Glee kind of put in the effort this season to let Rivera shine a little more.
I couldn’t help, but crack up a little at Mark Salling (Puck), Chord Overstreet (Sam), and Kevin McHale’s (Artie) “Bella Notte,” which is from Disney’s Lady and The Tramp. It’s one of those songs that you don’t expect to hear on Glee, but it’s still just oh-so charming. The song is sung well by all three guys. I like that it’s not overtly cheesy, and would fit nicely alongside other tracks on your Glee playlist.
Matt Morrison (Will) took a turn in the spotlight with “Still Got Tonight,” which was co-written by American Idol season eight winner, Kris Allen. The song is Morrison’s current single off of his recently released debut album. Crossover promotion at it’s finest! I really like this song. I think it’s a great mid-tempo pop track that I hope does well for Morrison.
Earlier today Tampa, FL based radio station 93.3 FLZ tweeted, “In NYC for music mtngs. With Jive now listening to @KrisAllen’s next single ‘Vision of Love,'” which left us fans wanting to know more information about this new song.
Toby Knapp of Hot 99.5 supplied Kris fans with a little more info on “Vision of Love” tweeting, “its poprock upbeat and fun…. sounds like a Kris Allen hit!”
So, is “Vision of Love” the first single of Kris’s highly anticipated sophomore album? For the time being, probably not. At least that’s what I’m thinking based off the couple tweets Kris just sent out.
“I know some of you have heard grumblings of a new single today. Well…I can honestly tell you that I haven’t picked a 1st single.”
He followed up with, “When the 1st single is chosen I will be the first to tell you. You will not hear it first from anyone else. I promise.”
Sounds good to me! It was fun to get excited over new music, and it can only mean good things if Jive is highlighting Kris to radio stations, right? I think so, plus it’s awesome that the DJs are liking the snippet that they played him!

Okay, so calling it a duet is bit of a stretch, but Darren Criss does play guitar and sing-a-long while Matthew Morrison sings the lead single of his debut self-titled album, “Summer Rain” in the video below.
Afterwards, the two sing a mash-up of “Great Balls of Fire” and “I Saw Her Standing There.”
I’m sorry Matthew, but not even having Darren perform with you can make me like that song of yours. You should start performing, “Still Got Tonight” ASAP.
Matthew Morrison’s debut self-titled album is out today! You can download his second single, “Still Got Tonight” (co-written by Kris Allen) for FREE on iTunes!
During the first stop of the Berklee City Music Tour in New York, Kris Allen decided to “wing it” and perform a ridiculously awesome cover of Ben E. King’s “Stand By Me.”
