The music video for David Cook’s lead single, “The Last Goodbye” off his upcoming sophomore album, This Loud Morning premiered earlier this week on iTunes!
The video was directed by Nigel Dick, who has done videos with Britney Spears and Backstreet Boys in the past. What I have always appreciated about Nigel’s videos is the way he uses color. I thought with this video the color hues were interesting, yet still popped.
Check out the video for “The Last Goodbye” below!
I really like that David didn’t do a full out performance video, because those can be a bore to watch. I think mixing it up and having a fun storyline shows that he doesn’t take himself too seriously.
If you haven’t already, the music video for “The Last Goodbye” is currently available as a FREE download on iTunes!
What did y’all think of David Cook’s video for “The Last Goodbye”? And don’t forget This Loud Morning comes out June 28!

Day two of “David Cook Takes the Bay Area” happened yesterday in San Francisco!
The show took place at Harlot, which is a small, more intimate venue than the room at the Hotel De Anza. I liked the venue a lot. It had this really interesting
ambiance to it.
The show started promptly at 6 p.m. David and Neal came out and jumped right into playing “Heroes.”
In between songs, Marcus D (Alice DJ) would chat it up with David. In the video below they talk about who David thinks will win American Idol this season and what David didn’t expect to happen after becoming a “rock star.”
The set list played out just like the San Jose show. The rest of the songs played were “Come Back To Me,” “Light On,” and “The Last Goodbye.”
Like yesterday, I recorded “The Last Goodbye.” Check out the video after the cut!

Tonight I got to attend the private acoustic Mix 106.5 David Cook Mixxer at the Hotel De Anza.
This was such a treat to attend! I’ve been a longtime fan of David’s since season
seven of American Idol, and I’ve gotten to see him play a handful of times, but I have always wanted to see him play an acoustic set.
David and his guitarist, Neal Tiemann did a short 4-song set for the audience, which included, “Heroes,” “Come Back To Me,” “Light On,” and “The Last Goodbye.”
Check out my video of “The Last Goodbye” after the cut!

Late this past Thursday night, the tracks for next week’s Glee episode “Prom Queen” leaked onto the interwebz. Included in next week’s batch of tracks is Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep,” which is sung by Lea Michele and Jonathan Groff as a duet.
This Glee cover is the latest in a string of “Rolling in the Deep” covers that have hit the web, since the song was released last fall. One of the issues I have with all the covers of this song is that most of them pale in comparison to the original.
As someone that loves music, I feel like “Rolling in the Deep” could possibly be on it’s way to being played out. The fact that Glee is has now covered it says a lot. And I’m not gonna front, I was excited at first to hear that Glee was taking on the song. I love Lea and Jonathan’s voices together, and I thought the result was going to be this intensely passionate, angsty vocal performance from the two of them. The Glee version actually sounds like a take of the John Legend cover of the song. To be honest, I was expecting more of a rock vibe from them, instead of a gospel vibe.

Who’s excited?
David Cook took to the stage at The Ellen DeGeneres Show today to perform his new single, “The Last Goodbye” from his highly anticipated sophomore album, This Loud Morning.
Check out David’s performance below!
I think he sounded a little bit better than his performance last week on American Idol. It will be nice to hear what this song sounds like when the band starts putting their own unique touches on it.
What did y’all think about David’s performance?

I figured as soon as the first guy was eliminated from season 10 of American Idol that they would start falling like dominoes, and as it turns out, that’s the only prediction I’ve made this season that’s been on point.
Following Paul McDonald’s exit from Idol last week, Stefano Langone was
eliminated from the competition last night. I’m not too surprised that Stefano was eliminated this week, it’s just too bad that it had to happen the night after he had what I considered to be his best performance in weeks. It takes me back to when Carly Smithson had an amazing performance of “Jesus Christ Superstar” during season seven, then got knocked off the next night, except I definitely wasn’t as upset.
This may be a little surprising to most who read Idol Wired, but I would have preferred Stefano to stay one more week if it meant Jacob Lusk was going home. I cannot believe Jacob has made it as far as he has in the competition. And Jacob’s performance in comparison to Stefano’s was definitely the weaker of the two performances.
Alright, I have to say it; I was super disappointed to see Haley Reinhart in the bottom three. C’mon, America! Haley had the best performance the other night, she deserves your votes.
Also, did anyone else catch Stefano totally snubbing Scotty McCreery when giving out hugs last night? What in the world was that about?
Switching gears over to the return of David Cook to the Idol stage. David performed the first single, “The Last Goodbye” off his highly anticipated sophomore album, This Loud Morning.
I thought that once David shook off his initial nerves, his performance was excellent. It must be a trip to return to the show that made him “more than a name or a face in the crowd” to debut his new single. I love that he’s kicking off his album with something upbeat and lyrically catchy. I’m really hoping that you, yes you and everyone you know hopped on iTunes and downloaded his single. I am all in favor of supporting former Idol contestants, especially ones named David Cook.
If you didn’t get a chance to watch David’s performance of “The Last Goodbye,” or you just want to watch it again, check it out below!
What did you think of last night’s Idol results? Are you liking David Cook’s new single? Also, what do you think of the Idols singing Carole King songs next week?
