Wait…WHAT?’s Summer 2011 Playlist

Hello lovely readers! Happy Summer to you all! Every year I always make an iTunes summer playlist with the songs that become my soundtrack, and I thought this year I would share what I’m listening with y’all. Over the past couple weeks I’ve been putting together my playlist of what I have been listening to since summer kicked off.

Since it’s summer, you’re not going to find any ballads on this list. But you are going to find upbeat and fun numbers that probably want to make you dance, or at the very least sing-a-long. You’ll find old songs, new songs, and definitely some of my favorites.

Enjoy Wait…WHAT?’s Summer 2011 Playlist!

“Summertime” – Will Smith: This the quintessential summer song. For me, it’s not summer without the classic Fresh Prince track.

“Right Here, With You” – David Cook: Let it be known that I love David Cook’s new album, This Loud Morning. For me this is one of those songs that you listen to loudly in the car with the windows down and the wind blowing through your hair. Definitely roadtrip mixtape potential with this one!

“Teenage Dream” – The Warblers/Darren Criss: Last summer I felt like Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream” was summer rolled up into a fantastically catchy song. Cue Glee giving the song a slight makeover with the ever so dreamy Darren Criss and his kick awesome vocals, and you have a song that I never ever want to go away.

Sneak Preview: Moneyball

Last summer, Moneyball was shooting in Oakland, and I had the unique opportunity to take part one evening as an extra. Brad Pitt, Jonah Hill, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and Chris Pratt were all on set that night at different times. It was pretty awesome. It was the longest & coldest eight hours of my life spent out at Oakland Coliseum, but it’s something I’ll always remember. Especially those five seconds where I got to say hi to Brad Pitt and get his autograph.

Moneyball is slated to be released this September, and you can check out the trailer below!

New Features For Wait…WHAT? at KirstenCoachman.com

As American Idol starts back up, I will be getting ready to make an attempt at writing a lot of words about the new crop of contestants for BlogCritics, while maintaining fresh content for Wait…WHAT? at KirstenCoachman.com.

I have come up with some features that will be for the most part exclusive to Wait…WHAT? at KirstenCoachman.com. They will highlight mainly movies and music. Big shocker, right? ;)

I have come up with two new movie features for the blog, Netflix Nights and Lil’ Bro Recommends, and a music feature called, Ear Candy.

I am slowly making my way through my Netflix queue, and I figured along the way, I would do some original commentary with my Netflix Nights feature. I already did some commentary about Charlie St. Cloud earlier this week. I don’t see a whole lot of movies while they are in the theater, so some movies may be somewhat old, and in some cases you’ll probably just question my taste. Haha!

Lil Bro Recommends is a new feature that’s going to be made up of movies that I have watched based on recommendation from my lil’ bro. He’s got a very eclectic taste when it comes to films (he’d probably just refer to it as having good taste), but so far he hasn’t thrown me anything too left of center. I’ve already watched a couple movies he’s recommended, so there should be commentary up about those soon.

Ear Candy will be apart of my music reviews. I tend to do a lot of album reviews, and I want to put my two cents in about new songs that are coming out this year.

Idol Wired is my upcoming Idol feature on BlogCritics, and I also will be posting every column here as well. Idol Wired will include my weekly commentary, plus Idol news, interviews, and music reviews of former contestant’s music. It’s an all-encompassing feature.

Yay, new features! I’m very excited for what 2011 will bring and I hope you keep coming by the blog to check out the posts and comment!

Same Site, New Home!

Hi everyone! (Not that I am entirely sure that I have readers, but if I do, HI!)

I recently decided to make a change at Wait…WHAT?, and that change would be moving from Blogger to WordPress.  I really like the layout options here, and I think the blog already looks a lot more organized and cleaner.

However, I did not take the archives with me. For nostalgia’s sake and lack of knowledge on how to make such a move without losing everything, I am leaving that blog in tact, but I will no longer be updating it. All of my reviews, commentary and interviews will be posted here.

I have had Wait…WHAT? since 2005, and I am so happy that I am still running it. Writing for BlogCritics has afforded me to stretch my wings a little and has provided opportunities that have kept me excited about writing about the things I love to write about.

Wait…WHAT? will still cover Idol, with emphasis on David Cook, Kris Allen & Lee DeWyze’s post-Idol careers, as well music, TV and live shows.  Toss in a couple YouTube videos here and there with some commentary and it will be like nothing changed!

I hope if you liked the original blog that you will continue to keep up and support Wait…WHAT? at it’s new home! (Also, feedback on the layout would be great, because I haven’t decided if I like this one or not.)

For the time being, I haven’t gotten my latest reviews posted, quite yet, but keep an eye for them over the weekend!

Shine On,

Kirsten
