I don’t know how often I’ll do these Idol news-related round ups, but this morning seemed like a good time for one!
Earlier this week, Kelly Clarkson “leaked” a new track, “What Doesn’t Kill You (Stronger).” Her fifth studio album, Stronger, is due out later this month on Monday, October 24. Take a listen to the song below!
Season 10 alum Tim Halperin shared some exciting news with his fans on Twitter this morning!

The Hollywood Reporter confirmed this morning that Lee DeWyze has been dropped by RCA Records. A rep for Lee told THR that the singer-songwriter is “in a good place right now.”
Other Idol winners that are still on RCA’s roster, include powerhouses Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood, as well as David Cook and Kris Allen.
And speaking of Idol winners, season 10 winner Scotty McCreery released his debut album, Clear As Day earlier this week! Scotty’s expected to debut at #1 on next week’s Billboard Chart. Exciting!
Album release dates, and music video premieres, and TV appearances! Oh my!
Chris Daughtry tweeted earlier today that the third studio album from his band Daughtry will be released on November 21! He describes the album as “full on ROCK!!!!!”
Chris sent a tweet last week stating, “Just got some great news!!!! I know what our first 2 singles are! I’ll spill the beans in the next few days”

Moving on, Kelly Clarkson’s music video for “Mr. Know It All,” the lead single off her fifth studio album Stronger is set to premiere on VEVO on September 26 at 12 a.m.!

Kelly is slated to perform on The Tonight Show on September 20 & The Ellen DeGeneres Show on September 22.
And last, but certainly not least, Kris Allen is scheduled to appear on the Today Show later this week on September 15 to discuss the Kidz Bop Star USA Talent Search, which he’s on the judging panel for. Kris is slated to appear during the 10 a.m. hour with Kathy Lee & Hoda.
Kelly Clarkson tweeted this morning that her first single off her new album is called “Mr. Know It All” and that it’s heading to radio very soon. She also announced that her fifth studio album, Stronger, is due out October 25!
October is a big month for American Idol album releases, as Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina’s highly anticipated debut albums are due out October 4 and October 11, respectively.
“Mr. Know It All” will debut on August 30 and will be available on iTunes on September 5.

I know the clip is like 10 seconds long, but I can already hear myself singing along to this in my car! “Let Me Down” sounds like it has more of a rock vibe to it than what was on her last album. I’m sure it will find a home on radio stations soon.
