Being the nerd that I am, I DVR’d three different New Year’s Eve specials to make sure I didn’t miss any music performances, and a surprise favorite of mine was David Archuleta’s performance on FOX’s New Year’s Eve Live of “The Other Side of Down.”
It was the first time I had heard the song ever, and it’s pretty dang catchy! I really enjoyed watching Archie just own the stage. He has definitely come a long way since his Idol days. I definitely want to check out his live show the next time he rolls into town.
That said, check out his performance below!

David looked and sounded amazing!! He is growing up and dare I say..getting HOT
Definitely see him live next time you have an opportunity! I have seen a lot of concerts..alot of artists..and he is just amazing. That voice..
Oh my word David was Amazing on New Years Eve!!! and YES you have to see/hear him perform live. You will just be even more blown away. He Can SING!!! His voice is pure magic.
He also performed Elevator to close the show! They were both really wonderful performances.
I agree too; he’s come a really long way since AI. He’s gained a lot of confidence, and his performing is great now. Of course, his vocals have also become even more amazing.
Oh David has a lot of surpises for the folks that haven’t seen much of him since American Idol. Check out the other songs on his new album too – this song is actually the title track for the album. And I agree with you – I loved the song from the first time I heard it.
David was amazing on NYE, even with the freezing temperatures! Love TOSOD and love the whole album. Yes, you must see David perform live…he is pretty incredible!
I did see him during the Idol tour, but I definitely want to see him performing all his post-Idol material!
You should! You definitely will NOT be disappointed. :)
He closed the show with Elevator
David Archuleta live is even better than his own studio versions. Just need more airplay (I don’t understand US DJs) and more exposure like NYE gave him.
If you like TOSOD you’ll love Stomping the Roses! I love to see him perform that one! My favorite!
