Earlier this week, a new song from American Idol’s Colton Dixon, “You Are,” made its online radio debut on Air1radio.com.
Colton recently announced that he had been signed to EMI CMG/Sparrow Records and shared that “You Are” is a worship song that he wrote a year and a half ago with some friends of his. The song is set to be the lead single off of Colton’s debut album, which is reportedly set to be released in February 2013. “You Are” will be sent to radio and available to download from digital retailers in October.

I think “You Are” is a great representation of who Colton is and is a great choice for his first single. Between this song and “Never Gone,” I think Colton really has a knack for songwriting, and I can’t wait to hear more of his music.
