Wait…WHAT’s Favorite Albums of 2014 >> The Colourist – ‘The Colourist’

2014 was the year of musical discovery for me. I fell head over heels with so many new bands, including Southern California’s The Colourist, who I had the pleasure of seeing live at the Fox Theater in Oakland this past year when they opened for Panic! at the Disco.

The Colourist’s self-titled full-length indie-pop album is a melodic collection of music that I can’t help but bop along to. The band (Adam Castilla – vocals/guitar, Maya Tuttle – drums/vocals, Kollin Johannsen – guitar/bass, and Justin Wagner bass/keys) has an undeniable energy about them that transferred from the stage into the recording studio to make for quite the debut.
